5 Reasons Why Walking is Underrated

5 Reasons Why Walking is Underrated

REASON #1:
PROMOTES GREAT IMMUNITY
Did you know that walking is the #1 recommended form of exercise to help strengthen your immune system? When you walk regularly, even for as little as just a few minutes per day it increases your blood flow and decreases inflammation levels, helping immune cells to perform effectively! A study by Harvard found that laborers who walked for at least 20 minutes per day took much fewer sick days compared to those who exercised less than once per week.

REASON #2:
FIGHTS THE SEASONAL BLUES
It's a common fact that exercise promotes the release of "happy hormones", or endorphins. Even an exercise as simple as walking releases endorphins, helping to reduce depression while inducing mental and physical relaxation.

REASON #3:
IMPROVES MEMORY
When blood pumps into the brain consistently it's more likely to stay healthy and produce good cognitive function. The more you walk, the more blood gets pumped into your brain. I guess you can say that by walking you're improving your brain's health step by step...literally!

REASON #4:
INCREDIBLY CONVENIENT
Walking is a form of exercise that requires no equipment, coaching, or money for the majority of the population. It's a great form of exercise to easily slip into your day. Plus, it's the rare form of exercise that encourages multitasking. It's as easy as getting up and going!

REASON #5:
GIVES YOU MORE ENERGY
We're not pulling your leg. Walking does increase your energy levels for a couple of reasons. As you walk, the exertion that comes from walking ignites the production of more mitochondria inside cells. Having more mitochondria inside your muscle cells increases the body's energy supply! Furthermore, an oxygen supply distributes throughout your body as you walk which helps energy production.

We encourage you to implement just 5 more minutes of walking into your daily routine for two weeks. Track this goal, and at the end of the two weeks notice how your overall health and wellness has improved. Small steps lead to grand destinations!

We wish you the best on your health and wellness journey.

Sincerely,

The SB Fitness Equipment Team
